Feng shui and bagua diagram of nature's five elements

Feng Shui

  • Feng Shui uses universal energy patterns to harmonize people, their property and possessions with the energy in the natural environment. Meaning “wind-water”, Feng Shui recognizes the flow of energy, whether it is fast or slow, weak or strong, and it’s impact on the environment and those in it. By respecting this flow of energy, one can make adjustments to their home, property, and possessions to encourage a balanced, nurturing flow of energy that supports growth and prosperity in all areas of life. When the energy flow is out of balance or disharmonious, growth and prosperity are hard to achieve or maintain.

  • Furniture placement, house design, home orientation are all respected and well-studied aspects of Feng Shui, and I encourage you to consider those aspects of your surroundings. For tips on these aspects, I recommend Anjie Cho’s articles and books. Overall, however, Feng shui is about working with Nature’s energy to promote a creative environment that supports growth. “Growth” comes in many forms: personal, spiritual, familial, financial, and more.

  • Feng Shui will help bring balance into your life. It can help you clear out clutter, release whatever is no longer beneficial to you, and appreciate the elements in your life that are most important to you. By bringing energy into your life that respects the flow of Nature’s energy, your growth comes more easily. By respecting Nature’s energy, we reduce the disharmonious energy we put into our personal environment, and by extension, the natural environment. When we treat the natural environment with respect, we create a harmonious relationship within ourselves.

  • It feels good when our living spaces, bodies, and minds are clean and clear. However, a clean body and clean house can still emit unclean energy. When there is a lot of fighting, chaos, tension, or depression in a space, the objects and people in the space absorb and then emit that energy.

In Japan, vital energy is called Hado and Ki. In China, it is called Chi and Shen Chi (positive energy) or Sha Chi (negative energy). Chi is within and surrounding all of us and is at the heart of Feng Shui practices. When there is too much and too little of either for too long, this imbalance creates problems.

Reiki Music is designed to keep the energy moving, keeping it fresh and clear, balanced and rhythmic. When a space has clean energy, it is like going from a musty, dusty room into a warm, sunny morning after a soft rain: Revitalizing.

  • A lot of people tend to think “I’ve got to see it to believe it.” Yet, we’re all affected by energy every day. When you get creeped out by somebody who just walks by, without saying a word, behaving strangely, or even looking at you, that’s a reaction to their energy. Feeling attracted to someone, some place, or some thing when you can’t explain your attraction with physical reasons, it’s the energy you’re drawn to. Just the phrase “mob mentality” explains when how chaotic energy turns rational people into bullies who vandalize property, only later wondering what came over them.

While working with energy is enigmatic, and seeing can be believing, I recommend this video about Dr. Masaru Emoto’s work. He was able to demonstrate how different qualities of energy impact water molecules. He is not the first scientist to study energy, but his work makes the quality of energy visible and relatable.

In the diagram below, there is a depiction of the difference between positive and negative energy patterns.

  • Energy imprints happened. We tend to know little about the prior residents of our homes. If they were going through hard times, such as a divorce, illness, depression, addiction, or other emotionally charged troubles, their energy will leave an imprint. This energy then emits back into the space and into your life. It is often fittingly called residual energy.

To get a fresh start in your new home, it’s important to clean the surfaces in the house with salt water before moving in, to open the windows and let fresh air move through the space, and to play Reiki music throughout the home, garage, and any other buildings on the property.

  • Yes. Any used object can carry residual energy from the prior owner. There are times when there is so much residual negative energy that it can cause problems for the new owners.

I recommend cleaning the object with salt water, if possible, before bringing it into the home. Or, set it outside in the sun for at least a day. Then, play Reiki music in the room where it is displayed. This will cleanse residual energy and rebalance the object’s energy to it’s new home and owner.

Reiki Music

  • Music cleanses with vibrations. Everything is energy. All energy is vibration. Music is organized vibrations. Reiki music for Feng Shui is is intended for environmental cleansing. It is simple yet powerful.

Music can be creative or destructive. To best illustrate the difference, look to Dr. Masaru Emoto’s work with the effects of emotions, words, prayers, and music on water. Here we see that what we think, feel, say, and do impacts our environment. We can then use that information to purposely improve our environment.

I have created music with the intention to create a harmonious, bright and clean environment. The musical vibrations reorganize disharmonious energy patterns into smooth, harmonious, balanced rhythm patterns.

Played regularly, the effect is energetic housekeeping. In fact, I recommend playing it while cleaning the house, after houseguests have visited, and whenever any disruptive or distressing events occur. Playing Reiki music daily helps keep the energy in the space clean and flowing smoothly.

  • Yes and no. Cleaning up the energy in a living space can be like cleaning a dirty mirror - once the mirror is clean, you can see situations with greater clarity. This clarity offers you the chance to make changes through new choices.

For example, let’s say you decide to clean a dirty window and notice a crack you never saw before. You can then choose to repair the window and save on heating and cooling costs.

Or, perhaps you find out that a family member has been lying to you. You can then make a choice about how to handle the situation now that you are aware of the “crack” in your relationship.

Reiki music won’t resolve these problems for you, but the clear energy can let you see the truth so you can make sound decisions to shape your life.

  • Reiki music is purposely intended for creating energy patterns that are harmonious, clean and bright in objects and environments. This makes it unique from mainstream music created for entertainment.

Music for entertainment will impact the energy in your living space, since it is also vibrational energy. However, not all music creates positive energy. Chaotic music or music with negatively charged emotions and sounds will send the same type of energy into a space. This type of music creates “dirty” energy instead of clearing it.

  • Unfortunately, there is a lot of music that promotes violence, hatred, and other destructive actions and thoughts, all while being delivered with a catchy beat.

Like the five elements of nature - water, fire, earth, wind, and metal - the music that best nourishes us is different depending on our natural energy.

Consider what kind of musical energy you are absorbing and whether or not it’s the kind of energy you want in your life.
